Try these various kinds of word games. By practicing the same words in many different games, you can learn them deeply. It's best to do the games in the order you find them.

A couple of the games are of special interest for people who want to improve their reading. As you know, when you read Chinese (and, to some extent, Japanese), you perceive the shapes of the characters and understand the meaning directly (not through the sound). But, because English uses a phonetic script, you probably see the letters and pronounce the sounds before recognizing the word. However, native speakers usually recognize the shape of the word before they see each letter, so we can read much faster, without being held back by the speed with which we can say the words. The games where there are missing letters, and you have to type the whole word, are a great way to increase your reading speed. Increasing your reading speed means you can read more, and, as you know, that means you get more input, and can improve your overall ability.
